Mike Yeager has 31 years experience in land asset management, land value enhancement, transaction management, representative for an industry trade association and land use consulting.
Prior to his retirement in 2009, Mike was Director of Land Asset Management for Plum Creek Timber Company, the largest private landowner in the U.S. In that capacity he was responsible for developing and executing land management and disposition strategies for the company’s northwest and northeast operations. These responsibilities included managing land disposition strategies for underperforming and non strategic land assets, identifying and executing land value enhancement opportunities, negotiating and managing land exchanges and managing a team of real estate brokers tasked with executing the companies land disposition strategies.
Before joining Plum Creek Mike was Director of Land Use and Environmental Affairs for the timber industry’s trade association (Washington Forest Protection Association in Olympia). His responsibilities included managing land use, natural resource, and environmental issues for the timber industry, serving as the industry’s liaison to other private landowners, citizen and environmental organizations, and local, state, and federal agencies. He also represented the association before the state legislature, and as a speaker and panel member at conferences, seminars, and community forums.
Mike was the principle in his land use consulting firm where he represented clients on commercial, industrial and recreational development projects, advised and managed real estate portfolios for financial institutions, conducted site location and feasibility studies, advised and represented forest products companies on natural resource, land use, and environmental issues.
